Description and Service Details

Description (Service) Babysitting Course
  • Provides a one day (8 hour) course teaching the basics of babysitting (child care, safety, basic first aid and emergency handling)
  • course emphasizes safety rules, responding to emergencies, and developing leadership skills
  • Babysitting book and certificate provided upon successful completion
Home Alone Course
  • for young people (aged 10 and over) that will be spending short periods of time home alone
  • course helps children develop the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time, e.g. how to prevent problems, how to handle real-life situations

Volunteer Description Volunteer opportunities include:
  • Medical First Responder Members that provide first aid services at public functions upon request
  • Child car seat education inspections and clinics available with appointment
  • Youth Cadet Program
  • Dog Therapy Program where dogs and their handlers visit hospitals, nursing homes, schools and libraries
  • Bingo Volunteers
