Description (Service) A system that delivers critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians through television and radio.

Alerts will include events such as:
  • tornadoes or other natural disasters
  • train derailments
  • fires, including wild, industrial, uban and forest
  • biological, including chemial, radiological or water contamination
  • information alerts such as frost warnings
  • environmental
  • hazardous or explosive materials
  • terrorist threat
  • civil emergency
  • animal danger
  • amber alerts
  • missing persons
  • emergency responder disruption
Enables Canadian government officials at the federal, provincial and municipal level to issue all types of public safety messages through media companies so that the public can take immediate action and stay safe.
