Description (Service)

Literacy and Basic Skills training including numeracy, digital, communication and interpersonal skills

  • helps learners prepare for employment, apprenticeship, secondary-school credit, post-secondary education and greater independence

Adults looking to upgrade their skills are matched with a tutor for one-to-one assistance. Assistance for those looking for secondary school credit (Adult Learning Centre) support, post-secondary goals, apprenticeship, independence skills and employment skills. People are also assisted to prepare for the PATI, CFAT, college mature student exam, and other entrance and aptitude tests. ESL help is also available.

Eligibility

Ages: 18 year(s) and up

  • Ontario adults aged 18 and older who are employed or unemployed and receive income support, with reading, writing, and math skills below Grade 12
  • must have facility in English
