A major trauma centre for the area, the hospital maintains a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week Emergency Department with facilities for triage * resuscitation * trauma * surgical and medical care * critically ill patients are transferred to other health care facilities based on their care needs

A Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP) is offered for training doctors in a rural environment
