Eligibility	Ages: 60 year(s) - 65 year(s)    Seniors 60-65yrs * partner of someone receiving Old Age Security (Basic) pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement * combined incomes of the couple must not exceed a certain limit * resident of Canada for a total of at least 10 years after reaching age 18 or 1 year if from a country that has a reciprocal pension agreement with Canada (benefit is prorated) * sponsored immigrants must have 10 years residence * applicants claiming common-law marital status must submit supporting documentation
Application	In person service at the Barrie Service Canada Centre no appointment necessary * application form * applicants can phone to have an application mailed out * Completed application forms and correspondence can be sent to PO Bag 2013 Timmins ON P4N 8C8 * completed application forms can be dropped off at all Service Canada Centres (staff at the centres will certify documents, but cannot confirm if correct documents have been included) * Application for Allowance on website listed as Old Age Security Application Kit
