| Description | Features a first class harness racing program under lights every Tuesday and Saturday nights with top quality, competitive race track facilities, Post Time 7:25pm * grandstand is glass enclosed and climate controlled * dining facilities and licensed lounge available, also have Simulcast wagering operations and 900 slot machines Youth Program Summer 2012: Georgian Downs and the Ontario Harness Horse Association offer a 4 day Harness Racing Youth Camp for 8 children 10-13 years old, from a non-harness racing background * children will learn safety, grooming, maintenance, anatomy, nutrition, history, harness equipment and more * there are four camp horses, with two campers paired up to each horse * lunch and snacks are provided daily to the campers * participants must be able to provide their own transportation to and from the track, camp is FREE! * eight children will be selected for the camp based on the submission of a 200 word written essay on the topic of “Why I Want To Drive a Race Horse”, there is a committee that reads all of the essays and chooses the final eight, see website for application information | |||
